“What is it about my work that is somehow less valuable in a different location?"
Probably not a thread you want to pull at if you’re in the highest paid geo. Be prepared to explain why you should be paid more than the person with the same job in the lowest paid geo.

So for the optimal strategy here, have multiple home hubs, arrange so that the highest paid one counts for salary amount, and the one with lowest tax is used for the taxing the salary.

What I've heard people tell me is everyone should be paid the same, equalizing up to the highest expected geo, so say the valley.
That somehow assumes that every company can afford to pay every single employee as if they live in the US and silicon valley in particular.

Jesse. Love you in many ways but that’s a horrible take. You pay somebody for the job they do as compared ro industry average for the pay for that job. Whilst taking into account their individual skills and prior salary structure. Geography is IRRELEVANT

1/ as I believe you’ve mention before kraken being pro-remote work. Let’s get real. After the last 2 years almost nobody is going back to being a drone in an office. Nor should they. And share they are based is irrelevant to their work output.

The people in the article don’t come off as so sympathetic. If everyone’s remote and do the same job at the same result, it’s the lowest pay that’s the baseline, not the highest one. Tough luck if you’re in the top tier, you should probably try to find a local employer.
