That's ~$20k/person. Isn't community college like $1000/yr? 300,000 seems like a lot of people to have become severely disabled. Were these loans given to people who were already severely disabled? I'm all for bailing out victims of the college debt scam but these numbers ???

The Department of Education just approved $5.8 billion of student debt relief for over 300,000 borrowers with disabilities (via @CNBCMakeIt) cnb.cx/2UvzMvw

Around 10K ish per year. More or less depending on state( and if the state gives you "free* via income level rules). So this is assuming community college 2 year amount an associate degree.

Principal Powell, community college is 12K a year NorCal. Just school. No rent, books, fees, food while 40hrs a week @ $12-15. People with disabilities require special need transport, edu difficulty assist tools/tech/class, tutors... The $1000 a yr school you think is EU.

Oh wow. Back in my day it was $12/unit, 12 units a semester for a full load. So, sounds like the loans were for a lot of supporting services rather than the education itself. Why make the loans in the first place if these people were known to be unable to get jobs to repay?
