Equal opportunity certainly is the ideal but we're far from there. Equal opportunity is everyone runs the same race. Right now, we all have the same finish line but we're not all starting from the same spot, running the same distance.

That's right, but let's make it so that everyone starts from the same spot, instead of playing with the score. This would likely take generations, but it's the right way.

we all start from different geolocations and surrounding circumstances, but we all have equally diversified options that can lead to the finish line in x steps. Obviously we won't have to do the same exact things as everyone, but the right x steps can get you through the quest.
