People of Austin, TX, what’s the situation with the street camping? Is Prop B going to pass? Thinking about a move but would never live in another city where filth and dangerously unstable people are allowed to run unchecked after seeing the devastation in SF and Venice, CA.

Austin is filled with liberals that will turn Austin into SF if you try making that place the next Silicon Valley. Why do all these tech types feel compelled to go to major cities? Tech companies should be trying to take advantage of the fact their work can be done anywhere

Cities benefit from network effects. They give you economies of scale, more variety, higher quality services, more opportunities, etc. I am trying to get as far away from SF-like policies as possible.

By that logic, New York should have the best network effect in the country and yet we know that’s not the case. Austin’s saying is “Keep Austin Weird” for a reason... it’s a city that wishes it was in an oppressive Blue State instead of Texas.

And Austin was the first city that came to mind?! Gotta try something like Boise or yea, maybe Miami...
