The problem is that "I mistook gun for taser" is even an option. Why do you need to bring a gun to a discussion about missing tags? Leave it in the car. Why are cops handling basic welfare/fix-it issues at all? Parking enforcement gets by with pepper spray. Let them handle it.

Because of this. She messed up royally, there's no question, but I would never take a knife to a possible gun fight. You just don't know. It's easier said that done

But why does it have to be a gun fight? I've gotten plenty of tickets left on my car with no interaction with a cop, nobody taking my ID or looking inside my car. We have traffic cam technology that sends tickets in the mail. Traffic stops that can be escalated are too dangerous.

What data do you have behind traffic stops that can be escalated are too dangerous? How do arrive there? Have you considered how many traffic stops happen daily with no incidents at all? Considering that what makes a traffic stop dangerous..?
