I thought SF was nuts with the homeless perks. Apparently, LA wanting to take back the crown, is proposing free beachfront homes. Because why would you build cost effectively inland when you can spoil the most expensive real estate on the planet. Your move, SF.

In CD11, we’ve added supportive housing & bridge housing, leased or purchased hotel rooms, opened safe parking & more. But it’s not enough. I’m proposing more projects - from safe camping to supportive housing - so we have solutions in every neighborhood. bit.ly/3fzpZgm

I got a postcard today asking for a donation to this truck that lets homeless beach people shower, get groomed, etc. so they can live on the beach here in Maui. I thought, uh oh, how many more people will decide to move to the beach if there’s free hotel like service?

Well-intentioned but short-sighted people making the problem worse is the story all over. Cowardly/misguided leaders fail to enforce existing rules to the detriment of the legal residents. This kind of truck should visit legal shelters, not subsidize illegal camping. Good luck!

Guess I touched a nerve! My comment was about how many gallons of gas emit the same amount of CO2 as a BTC txn (could’ve been more clear in the clip). First off, I’m DEFINITELY not saying ban BTC! I’m saying we, collectively, can and should understand PoW’s carbon footprint. 1/4 twitter.com/fintechfrank/s…
