They're not done laughing yet though. Many of us have succumbed to enemy FUD/threat misdirection, taken our eye off the prize and turned on each other in a battle for second place, last decapitation in a Highlander competition. We can fight over optimizations later, if we win.

Optimization is fighting. It’s the same thing. Schnorr upgrade gives msig privacy, etc. LN gives scale, keeping nodes lightweight for decentralization, etc.

Agree. My main problem is people wasting valuable time spreading false narratives in the media. We can hype up our favorite protocols without disparaging other protocols which might be inferior but still vastly superior to the incumbent fiat protocol.

Depends on what level you are fighting. If your charge is only free capitalism, that makes sense. If you also want to do things like improve human cooperation, efficiency, self-sovereignty, and dismantle central banks, then there very few alt protocols to Bitcoin with relevance

Agree but that doesn’t stop them from throwing Bitcoin (and even Ethereum) under the bus with media, regulators, legislators. Rather than explain how defi/crypto is superior to the legacy system, they’re focused on pumping their own coins by way of making other cryptos look worse
