Minimum wage laws can also be understood as "minimum labor value" laws. If your labor is less than the minimum labor value $X, you are prohibited from working. Why? There is no employer who will pay $X or > $X if your labor is only worth $X to that employer.

Overlooked problem is that there is competition for jobs in the world and setting a min wage is just setting a price at which the job is exported rather than filled locally. Min wage says you’d rather come out of pocket to fully support the unemployed than let them work for <$X.
