It's pouring rain in SF right now and the only way you are guaranteed food, clothing, & shelter is if you're booked into county jail.

We need shelters opened - ASAP.
All this squabbling about permanent housing is a complete black hole. It is yielding no results!
We have a crisis on our hands. We should treat it like one.

I understand that shelters are controversial.
And one of the reasons we don't have many of them is that the disapproves of them.
(IMHO, I believe this organization has too much influence on SF policy.)
Basic shelter should be a right in SF.

Do you draw a line anywhere on housing? The chronicle likes to highlight a woman who came here from Kansas homeless in 2015 and got a housing. Does every homeless person in the US, in the World, have a right to housing in SF? If so, why?
