They don’t see it as losing ground. Income and wealth inequality is falling. Housing availability rising while cost falling. Businesses paying more taxes and diversifying their boards. By every metric of success they’re optimizing for, they’re crushing it.

Income and wealth inequality aren't falling, they're moving away! Housing costs are increasing. You could drop $100k off housing prices today by eliminating nonsense started requirements and fees. Businesses are also moving out and will pay less tax.

Agreed. Rich people leaving doesn't mean more money for the poor. Rental prices cheaper, yes. But unemployment growing and ratio of provider:provided for is shrinking. They are juicing the orange, hard.
