It's Management 101 that when nobody is responsible, there is little accountability. It appears that nobody - not a single employee of CA - is being evaluated primarily on their ability to solve homelessness. As in - if things get worse, nobody is fired. (2/x)

We should have an entire department focused on this issue! If we have a $202B budget, and it's our top issue as a state - I would expect that we spend 5-10%+ of our budget. Why aren't we spending $10-20B to tackle this? (4/x)

We have ~150,000 homeless in CA. A $10B budget would cost ~$70k/person. This seems reasonable given the exorbitant cost of psychiatric care. Instead, it seems like SF, LA and various other cities are left to deal with this alone. (5/x)

This is taxation without representation. The taxes of SF's millionaires and billionaires are going to state & federal coffers. Top CA state tax is 13.3%. The CA budget is 15x that of SF. Yet we are expected to pay for housing for 8,000 people? How?? (6/x)
