Welp, the socialists are coming after me again. That means it is time for me to log off for the night, but just as a reminder: Socialism isn’t cool. It doesn’t work. And if you want to live in a socialist country, there are plenty globally that would love to support you.

I live in Japan with national healthcare. Know what happens when I get sick? I go to the doctor.

Different policies work for different cultures. If everybody is honest, healthy and extremely averse to being a burden on society, it doesn't cost that much to offer everyone free medical care because the demand is much lower. If everybody is a sick mooch it's cost prohibitive.

And you realise that public healthcare is WHY people are healthier all around? It’s not just because they eat they healthy. That has nothing to do with why there isn’t public healthcare in the US. The private health industry is greedy and toxic and stopped it from happening.

Give all inhabitants the chance of being healthy and educated from the start. That will reduce two of the bigger problems a country can have. A lot of money saved for more important matters.

The homeless here are able to avail themselves of the healthcare system. Japan also has solid tax payer paid education and string worker supports. Perhaps those things also lend themselves to the people “being good”. Cultures are made, not inherent.
