Treating payment tech companies like full-fledged banks can endanger customer deposits. The business model of Payward Inc’s Kraken Financial, part of a US-based cryptocurrency exchange that WY bank authorities just approved for a special-purpose bank charter, shows just that.

LOL, they are just mad because their users will probably be pulling their checking balances out of their bank, and depositing it into a SPDI bank such as Kraken Financial that won't rehypothecate or loan out the money. As consumers, we want 100% reserve banking options.

I've had way less hassle with my Kraken deposits than I had with old stinky legacy banks. There's currently a case against ME because THEY don't get their fkin security in order. In fact, they can shove their service where the sun don't shine. Happy to quit them asap.
