I agree it would be a miracle to see any anonymous CBDC but it's probably the only thing a CBDC would be good for -- an anonymous digital payment method of last resort to replace cash. If we're going full digital, who would fully traceable fiat? You'd prefer digital gold, #BTC.
In central banks, various privacy models are considered, e.g. thresholds to which transactions remain anonymous by default.

I would never trust a closed source CBDC that advertises itself as anonymous, probably backdoored. Even if it were open source, I would need to build the binaries myself to have faith. Statement on backdooring big tech & eliminating end to end encryption: gov.uk/government/pub
