Honest question because I see these kinds of claims being made occasionally and, from the outside, the situations can often be explained without discrimination. Logic usually goes: 1. Boss didn't do it my way 2. I know better than boss ∴ Boss must be bigoted How do you know?

Well, it's not about being the smartest person in the room (Boss). It's about building a team with the smartest people you can find (not Boss). If Boss doesn't listen to team, then why did Boss hire team?

Presumably, to do the things the boss doesn't want to do or doesn't have the bandwidth to do. Listening to your team, taking their input, doesn't mean that you follow their recommendations. If you've built a successful company, you were probably contrarian to begin with.
