Good move. I'm looking outside of CA given the proposed income tax hike + wealth tax.
Inside CA: Westside LA
Outside, 0% cap gains tax: Austin, Nashville, Miami, Jackson Hole, Incline Village, Portsmouth, Seattle.
Outside US: Singapore, NZ
Hard to get a feel without visiting.

I should have mentioned Puerto Rico if you are going for max tax savings as a US citizen. You can get down to ~4% total income tax with Act 20/22 giving you federal exemptions.

I won’t disagree. Wife doesn’t want to stay here long and she hates taxes even more than me. The less you have to deal with local gov or local workers/business the better. You will just get frustrated and annoyed. So you have to calculate what that is worth in your savings.

Many crypto investors gain not by ordinary income but by Capital Gains on their crypto investments. My understanding is that Puerto Rico offers 0% taxes on crypto gains made after becoming a resident there.

PR wasn't a good option for me bc short of having a boat that gets you off that island, being locked on that island is pretty miserable. I explored all of DT SJ in a day.
