We should view government as the service provider of last resort. If you can't afford private education & security, you have public schools and police. Problem is government charges us for its services even when we don't want them, reducing our financial ability to choose.

The private ones are always better. Auction them off or let people vote for who should maintain the streets. Gov can pay the bill but no need for government employees to be the ones building and maintaining the streets. There are other operations who can do it better and cheaper.
