We should view government as the service provider of last resort. If you can't afford private education & security, you have public schools and police. Problem is government charges us for its services even when we don't want them, reducing our financial ability to choose.

Curious what happens in a hypothetical where my private police have a dispute with your public police?

You can have both, and the private police would have to give way to the public police, provided the public police are doing their duty and not breaking the law. The demand on public police would be greatly reduced if people had a stipend to buy private help.
