If real life were a video game, we'd be wearing masks, goggles and helmets 24/7 for marginal extra stats. Where's the disconnect? It's not much of a hassle relative to the significant benefits so is it just fashion norms? Should we all be wearing glasses even if we don't need em?

I'm serious. I don't need my glasses most of the time but I wear them all the time now just because they offer extra protection. I'll probably always wear masks in crowded/confined spaces from now on. Just looking for a fashionable helmet now.
What is the helmet intended to protect you from? Would you be wearing it at the office?
It might make sense to wear one when driving.

Maybe not at the office but out and about, walking down the street, driving. Never know when a branch could fall on your head or stray projectile hit you.
