I honestly think that it's an ego flex thing, status affirmation, ultimate privilege. "Look what I can do." You have to wonder how small and inconsequential they must feel in their ordinary lives to perform such a test. The outrage response to rejection is desperation.

Wouldn’t mind it but I’m for private businesses having whatever clothing rules they want. No shirt, no shoes, no service has been a thing for ages.

She's on private property in a private medical practice demanding her right to not accept their policies though she's there as a paying client. They don't have to provide her with service. Why would anyone think they have such rights? This is bizzare. USA is a bizzare country.
