1776-1913. We gave up our independence as individuals when we accepted the burden of fiat debt money and a worldwide income tax. I'm grateful to be a US citizen, however, most people can't afford the exit tax if they feel differently. In that way we are not free.

I found out about the worldwide income tax for american citizens about 2 months ago and i'm still shocked at the absurdity

After the civil war and before WWI is when this country was built into a powerhouse.....with no income tax. Interesting footnote to the civil war, is was Russia that sent boats to protect us from UK/France invasion while we killed ourselves. We owed them, so we bought Alaska. ;)
