PayPal supporting #Bitcoin will be amazing for adoption, however, don't expect PP to change their policies on account closures. They're still a centralized choke point and the government will continue to commandeer the financial system for extrajudicial sanctions. Not your keys..

Absolutely. For chrissakes, don't leave more coin on Kraken than you need for your activity. If we get a legit government order to close your account and hand over the coins, you can say goodbye to your precious savings. Great thing about crypto is you can self custody.

Very true, but that would be the same for all exchanges across US then. Would happen both to Conbase, Kraken, Gemini, CashApp, Swan Bitcoin etc at the same time. I don't think it will happen! Just saying if they want to stop Bitcoin trade it would be on all platforms.

It's probably a reason to split up your custodial risk by geo. They don't need to shut down all platforms to confiscate your individual holdings though. Even if you think you're innocent, I've seen some shoddy blockchain analysis produce some questionable associations.
Oh, totally agree. I thought you were talking about a general Bitcoin trading ban, but yes any individual can be singled out and frozen totally while being innocent. I have seen that with my own eyes in this country!
