COVID only accelerated the inevitable for SF. Budget shortfall ~$1.7b for 2020. I would not want to own real estate in the city right now. Many people moving to SoCal for higher QoL and out of state for sane taxes. Prepare for carnage. My take 18mos ago: medium.com/@jespow/the-ri

So where will you move Kraken to Nevada? or Texas.
I am already planing my move.
San Diego is as close as I get to staying in Ca.
The future is remote.
Customer service can be remote- coding/office essential can be relocated.

More likely Wyoming but what it means for a global remote company to be somewhere is increasingly a philosophical question.

That’s the pioneering mindset that Wyoming wants.
Philosophically does a global company need to be chained to one city/one region?
A Global Company in my opinion can be anywhere it chooses and anyone can have access to it. Within reason of course.

The only thing really demanding a physical presence in a particular place is regulation. Many regulators require that they be able to physically inspect your operation, interview people at your office, etc.
Because sometimes you being the business that funds their service/regulations have due reason to make them change and evolve.
The times do call for it, the future of currency is not just under your clout so is the future of office and business culture.
Keep that pioneer spirit.
