This is rich. It's called a market and there are consequences for interfering. There is a cost to providing goods and services, and if the business is barred from charging above the COGS, the business will predictably cease the loss making activity. What did you expect?

This is DESPICABLE, outrageous behavior from @UberEats. They are now saying that they can no longer deliver to Treasure Island residents bc of new regulations capping commissions. So they are RETALIATING against SF by punishing one of our most low income, isolated communities

I have been facilitating delivery of food to treasure island for a month: kalw.org/post/treasure- And I will step in and do more. I’m not “complaining”. I’m asking for basic fairness and not to retaliate against vulnerable residents I represent to make a political point.

"Basic fairness" is to let the free market run. The political point was made when the gov capped prices. Now, you have the choice to unwind your price cap, provide subsidies to the delivery services or start your own competing delivery service of last resort.

The free market = basic fairness ? Is that for real? Where do you stand on laws prohibiting redlining? Labor or safety protections? Laws against discrimination by race or gender? Segregation? Should we have taxes at all?

The Mayor issued the commission cap under her emegency authority because we are in a global pandemic. I support it but had nothing to do with it and have no power over it. She determined it was in the interest of our residents during this crisis.
