I am considering investing in certain emergency-related devices and consumables. I intend to sell at a 1000%+ profit, at a future date. The profit will reflect inflation, opportunity and carrying costs. Q: should I stock these supplies or will I be barred from making a profit?

If your purchase has to do with this crisis, your ethnics should be questioned. If you were in position for a future crisis, I guess that is fine. Depends on how well you sleep at night.

It would be for a future crisis. So, it's ok to profit from a crisis but only if you have set up your position X amount of time ahead of the exit? How much time in advance is enough?

I just don’t think it is ethical to profit from a future crisis. Definitely not 1000%. Couldn’t tell you what is right but I know that this would feel wrong. For Me.

What about this? I can stockpile masks now, and people can get masks later but for $10 instead of $1. OR, I don't stockpile masks now and nobody can get masks later, at any price. Which is better?

If that ever changes, I’d love to check it out. I will be teaching a section of crypto to my middle schoolers in the fall. Well... hopefully. 😬
