I am considering investing in certain emergency-related devices and consumables. I intend to sell at a 1000%+ profit, at a future date. The profit will reflect inflation, opportunity and carrying costs. Q: should I stock these supplies or will I be barred from making a profit?

This is such a bad take. Educated people rationally stock pile for disasters like earthquakes and tornados. Irrational people don’t. Maybe focus on teaching by example on how to build a rational stockpile for yourself and teaching that greed is bad.

Meybe for this or that subject the economic reasons shouldn't be the main parameter to guide preparadness. Finland has some stock of many many essential items (masks included) and, while their weren't enough for the need of a whole country it certainly was better than none
