So, I'm not allowed to go out for a jog or hike? Where is the data supporting this level of isolation? Surely, I don't need to make a fake run to the supermarket just to get some fresh air?

No, that's not what is being said. The opposite actually. You should get some fresh air, just avoid heavy populated areas and those who are most vulnerable. Practicing social distancing is key.

Where do you see that? The only statement I've seen says some whitelisted activities are OK but everything else is not OK.

He said you can still go outside, take your dog for a jog, pick up food... but other than the essentials, stay home and stay away from people.
