CA is issuing a statewide, mandatory STAY AT HOME order.
Those that work in critical sectors should go to work. Grocery stores, pharmacies, banks and more will stay open.
We need to meet this moment and flatten the curve together.

So, I'm not allowed to go out for a jog or hike? Where is the data supporting this level of isolation? Surely, I don't need to make a fake run to the supermarket just to get some fresh air?

I think jogging and hiking are fine. They have been. Stay At Home means "as opposed to going to an office or anywhere else you feel like."
Outside exercise that doesn't involve contact with a lot of other people is fine, as far as I know.

You might be right but that is not at all clear at the moment.

That's fair. I agree it should be explicitly clarified.

They specified at the briefing several times that walking your dog, bicycling, hiking etc are all fine. Watch local news.

Thank you. Hopefully, they update the docs to reflect this.
