That's a good point. PoW as a coin-distribution mechanism is interesting. Either you are ok with a token sale or you could potentially take a snapshot of a PoW chain and use that to bootstrap

All PoS chains have been initialized from a PoW chain with a massive proportion of issuance to a select few insiders, usually without transparency. That cannot be described as "fair" in any sense. PoS is peak crypto-fiat delusion, popularised. Surprised you don't know.

From a PoW chain or an ICO. Jesse knows this, he's just trying to keep the game going.

PoS is definitely less secure, and less resistant to censure too. if somebody has a majority of stake, how can the network censor them apart from waiting for more inflation and buying and locking coins up ? with PoW anyone can plug in hardware anytime and reject censor by mining
