Catching up on all this stuff. Probably going to get flamed but am I the only one who reads this and thinks
* this is every startup
* CEO seems strong
* 95% of the criticisms are easily explained if you give CEO benefit of the doubt

They lost me in the first paragraphs. Who cares what flavour of human upper mgmt are as long as they deliver? Also, this US phenomenon of policing of others at the workplace in case their words/actions don't mirror your principles is a gross overstep & basically mob repression.

Maybe almost all startups are run like this but they shouldn’t be. Some things can be explained away by the CEO but by reading this article, the leadership could be better if they trusted the people they hired and actually opened up the inner circle but that is just my opinion.

It's always super easy to comment from the outside. Trust is earned. Don't know the situation in detail at Away but agree with Jesse's take.

Customer support doesn’t gets the respect it deserves because so few founders understand the challenge of building a vibrant, healthy customer support team. The bull run in crypto showed who could rise up to the challenge. Kraken made it, easy to see how others didn’t. Not easy.
