I didn't like his answer. I would love to see an example of Jesse's integrity. There was a time when Jesse thought BCash should be listed as Bitcoin. MrHodl doesn't forget.

I like Jesse. As far as exchange operators go, he's pretty decent. I don't recall him thinking Bcash should be listed as Bitcoin, but I can't think of one single exchange who handled Bcash properly. Only heard of one exchange refused to list and offered withdrawals only.

That's not what he's saying, he's saying it's a branding nightmare (it is).

Okay, maybe i misread that? The way I read it is that since Bitcoin doesn't own the .com it shouldn't be called bitcoin.

I think he's lamenting that Satoshi did not secure dot com and @ twitter because of the issues they have caused, and saying that with Bitcoin's market cap, a proper Bitcoiner ought to throw money at the problem for the sake of branding.

Yes. My point was that nobody owns the name bitcoin. Nobody controls which evolving concept is named by the word bitcoin. People can disagree about what bitcoin is. Sucks that the top Internet domain/handle was not reserved to prevent abuse.

This goes straight to the core of the whole blocksize debate. Ownership of legal structures like domain names or twitter handles should never have any bearing on what should be called bitcoin. Only bitcoin is bitcoin. We all know what bitcoin is. And 2017 proved it.

What would be better if some dude that had a good take on bitcoin at some point, bought the domain from Roger? Or/and the twitter handle. It would still be completely retarded to trust or put any weight on the words posted there.
