What's with the "right" to healthcare thing lately? Are we going to enslave the world's doctors? I would be happy to help my neighbors buy healthcare, provided I can ensure they are doing their part taking care of themselves and we are getting a fair price. No slavery though plz.

I’ve always thought it absurd that employers are responsible for providing health insurance to employees. The current system keeps people locked into jobs in order to maintain health coverage. That’s insane.

It is nuts that it's required but, if you can afford it, I think it's one of the better perks a selfishly motivated company can provide. Healthy employees are more productive and less likely to let some terrible contagious disease get out of hand, which could take everyone out.

The "not having to worry about your kids health insurance so you can focus on work" aspect is huge.

The solution is to have an open HealthCare marketplace and people can only get a tax break if they buy healthcare on that marketplace. Companies could contribute credits for that market place to employees, but it's up to the employees to purchase a plan on the free market.
