I think they would prefer that none of the family talks about the other members of the family at family game time. Family members that disagree with the game rules can opt out from game time. If enough do, maybe the policy will change.

Isn't that what Hong Kongers are trying to do? They disagree with the game rules imposed on them by China, so they are trying to opt out. Totalitarian regimes are not known for their favorable policy changes.
