Here I am, 3rd weekend in a row doing taxes. There's gotta be a better way. Anyone else feeling brutalized by the situation in California? 13.3% on cap gains and no federal deduction. What happened with that state tax "donation" hack proposal? I ❤️ CA but baby's high maintenance.

Mate you’re complaining of 13% capital gain tax? Try Australia we are taxed up to 50% on capital gains and min 25% esp it gain is large

Effective combined state + federal in California for long-term capital gains is about 38% but dang, 50% is ridiculous :(

Wow 38 %. We pay 30 % in total in capital gains taxes here in Sweden. And then you Americans call us socialists when it seems to be the other way around. i.imgflip.com/2y0c93.jpg
