Pro #PropC discussion on here is straight out of a heist movie. "OK, guys.. you know Johnny next door? Yeah, well, I think Johnny has more cash than he needs, so, how 'bout this: we're gonna bust in, take his cash and redistribute the spoils as we see fit, being smarter and all."

Absent a structured society, they would bust in anyway and take it. At least having a collective order brings some ability manage the injustice inherent in life. I've yet to see libertarians or anarchists propose an actually workable solution.

If California weren't saddled with Prop 13, I'd say property tax makes more sense than all these bizarre local taxes on businesses. You can have collective order without the majority getting together to impose a tax on the minority.

Yea its not a surprise that the tax systems are poorly implemented. The argument should be "how can we do this more effective?" But you're making an case about the fundamental concept of taxation. The problem is there is no way to have pure voluntarism.
