NYAG asked the NYDFS to investigate the businesses which did not provide answers to their voluntary survey. Kraken doesn’t do business in NY so that investigation probably took about 2 seconds. Out of bounds of their jurisdiction.

I don’t know what that means. They registered a New Jersey account and then made a trade from Manhattan? So?
Maybe you should ask the NYAG exactly what that meant

So if they don't actually have a valid address in New Jersey I think the NYAG may feel that you are not thorough enough with KYC
