Once you read the methodology, you see that it clearly states that it is a perception poll. "The Thomson Reuters Foundation's eighth annual perception poll was a repeat of the Foundation’s first poll in 2011..."

Actually I am pretty shocked to see the United States in this list right after a number of countries at war or underdeveloped...even Russia is not mentionned although different discriminations against minorities are denounced overthere..

It’s a poll, so clearly perceptions are out of whack. Most European countries (I’m talking to you Spain, France) have much worse sexism, despite a zillion laws. Don’t believe the hype.

No way India should be #1 on this list. I understand India has its issues, but there are nations far worse where women have NO RIGHTS. This is a biased and politicized rating.

I'd like to see the data, please. Not something based on a poll.
-
Google it
-
I read the article actually presents no data. Specially states they polled people in the field
-
I google things if I don’t see what the poster is posting.
-
I don't know what this means... I know what the poster posted because I read the article she tweeted, which I think you did not read, because it said that data was not used in making this list. They polled people.
-
And they are telling you to use Google to find data.
-
I'm saying the list should be BASED ON DATA. Like this...https://www.theneweconomy.com/insight/10-of-the-most-dangerous-countries-to-be-a-woman …
-
That's not what you said, though. So that's why you are getting responses that aren't congruent to what you want.

Come on, Jessica - you’re smarter than this. This is a poll based on global perception, not based on actual facts or analysis. The fact that our news media actually covers crimes against women shows how safe the US actually is.
