    In a recent, thrilling conversation with some folks over the word repugnant, we discussed the partial: pugnant. It's a conjugation of the Latin word pugnare meaning fight. Re-pugnant then means to re-fight or fight /against/. In English, repugnant means offensive or repulsive.

    I learned 5 surprises when visiting Hiroshima: 1) the bomb fell by parachute 2) Hiroshima was selected as a target prior any attack on Japan 3) most Survivors didn't get cancer 4) people live there; it's nice 5) an impact sensor was dropped along w/the bomb, retrieved later. 🙏

    I am honestly confused by the seeming contradiction between the current unemployment statistics and the profusion of Now Hiring signs. Many include the pay details; these are decent jobs for decent companies. There is something disconnected here & I can't put my finger on it.
