          Lt. Uhuru was a goddess to me in 1967. She was an engineer, she was smart and disciplined, and when she spoke, everyone on the bridge—including the captain!—had to stop and listen to her. It was nice that she was beautiful, but the main thing for me was men listening to a woman.
