Didn’t expect to be enjoying the new Kacey Musgraves album Golden Hour…

I fear for the future of pop if that influential label signed, hyped support act’s music is in any way representative in its excruciating blandness.

After my University won the boat race, hoping this evening will be similarly successful. I’m late to discovering her, only coming on my radar after her arresting appearance on Jools.

. The high res. version of May Your Kindness Remain is sounding so gripping on my Akurate Exaktbox, I’m having difficulty imagining how your upcoming Katalyst upgrade will improve on it :)

Courtney Marie Andrews’ new album May Your Kindness Remain. Outstanding production and emotionally intense from the outset. Do listen if you have any interest in Americana.

Not going to moan when you go to a dinner party and is the playlist for the entire evening.

I may be too late to get a ticket for (Soccer Mommy’s) show in Manchester tomorrow, but at least I have one for her next show here in September:)

Jonathan Wilson’s new album Rare Birds has moved away from Laurel Canyon influences and unexpectedly embraced more modern styles. Yet, after a few listens its depths are revealing themselves. Most impressive.

At least on first listen, it seems the hype around Soccer Mommy’s debut Clean has some justification.

. has 60 female artists on their lineup this year (33% of total against 25% last year). Obviously they have a far bigger budget than Green Man, but at least they’re moving in the right direction.

Still feeling sad that have to be called out by The Guardian for including no women amongst their headline acts. They really need to do better than this next year:

It’s sad that haven’t been able to book any female headliners this year. Some nice additions lower down the bill, but King Gizzard hardly warrant top line status IMHO.

Lady Bird absolutely deserves the acclaim, but I loved Jon Brion’s sountrack too.

It feels like utter cultural vandalism on the part of ITV, ruining Kendrick’s performance by repeatedly muting the audio.

My favourite new album though must be ’s See You Around. Gorgeous harmonies and sensitive acoustic playing.
