  1. As I said at the launch of our policy to restore the 3,000 bus routes cut by the Conservatives since 2010: "Margaret Thatcher once said anyone on a bus over the age of 25 is a failure. We've moved on from that – I think people on a bus is a success."

I've been out campaigning in Peterborough with a wonderful group of Labour activists. The local elections are your chance to vote for Labour councillors who will stand up against Tory cuts which have decimated public services. Vote Labour this Thursday, 2 May.

Good luck to our Shadow Health Secretary who is running the London Marathon tomorrow. He's raising money for which does such important work with children of alcoholics, a cause close to his heart. If you can, please support him here:

I was so proud to announce that Labour will reverse the Conservatives' cuts to 3,000 bus routes. We use buses far more than any other form of public transport - 4.5 billion journeys every year. These are vital services which we won't just restore, we'll invest in more.

Maintaining an important relationship with the US doesn't require the pomp and ceremony of a state visit. It's disappointing that the Prime Minister has again opted to kowtow to this US administration. I'd welcome a meeting with President Trump to discuss all matters of interest.

Theresa May should not be rolling out the red carpet for a state visit to honour a President who rips up vital international treaties, backs climate change denial and uses racist and misogynist rhetoric.

Great to visit Hucknall to announce our policy to restore the 3,000 bus routes cut since 2010 and expand services. Places like Hucknall and Ashfield have seen vital bus services cut but we'll restore them and put passengers first. Vote Labour on 2 May.

In the late 1930s, 35,000 brave women and men from across the world travelled to Spain to join the International Brigades to defend the country from fascism. Earlier this week, Geoffrey Servante died - Britain’s last Brigadista. We pay tribute to him.

Proud to announce Labour's policy to restore 3,000 bus routes cut since 2010 and fund the expansion of new services. And we will bring buses into public control and ownership, so they work for passengers not profit.

The social care crisis is stripping older and vulnerable people of the dignity and security they deserve. Today we're announcing plans to provide 160,000 home help packages to support more people, including 50,000 dementia sufferers, to live independently.

The social care crisis has gone on for too long. It means people are being admitted to hospital with conditions that could have been avoided if they'd been properly looked after. Today I'm proud Labour is announcing plans to give people the security, dignity and care they need.

I met George while I was out campaigning in Ashfield this afternoon. We spoke about why a vote for a Labour councillor on Thursday 2 May is a vote to protect communities from the worst of austerity.
