Today rail fares go up by 3.1%, while punctuality is at a 12-year low. But at least the shareholders are happy!

Labour run transport in Wales and Merseyside, where rail fare increases are fully devolved to the Labour-controlled local authorities/government but fares have still increased above 3%...

The rail network is a very profitable part of our infrastructure. Taking back our rail infrastructure from Branson, Deutsche Bahn etc... should be the starting point of our next government taking Great Britain back from the thieving private sector (mostly Tories, of course).
-
The last Labour Government sold off billions in PFI contracts+did nothing to halt the selling off of railway contracts
-
The late Margaret Thatcher sold off anything worth selling including our oil and most of our social housing. At least when the PFI contracts finish there will be an asset.

Between 1997 and 2010 rail fares rose 67% while CPI rose 41%; Between 2010 and 2018 data shows fares rose 32% while CPI rose 26.8%. So under the last labour government, rail fare increases outpace inflation by more than they have under the Tories - why would it be any different?
-
You can find that data in House of Commons Briefing Paper Number SN06384, 30 November 2018.

Honestly, until you support a people's vote on the
#brexit deal it's hard to take anything else you say seriously because of the damage you're happy to have wreaked on our country that makes everything else pale by comparison. -
So are you saying he is wrong to respect the vote that we already had? Is he wrong to respect millions of people who voted leave? You can’t take somebody who respects democracy seriously?
-
They don't care. They're extremists. All they care about is stopping brexit and couldn't give a toss about much else.

Once again JC, I agree with you but what's the point of you moaning. You're not going to get in to Number 10 in order to make changes. You're as weak as they come.
-
weak? Why do you think such a great number of people, including the young believe in him?
-
Because the young are idealistic dreamers with no real sense of practicality. Don't know why we put so much importance on what the young think.
-
Mate if you're under the impression that anyone gives a toss about what you think I've got some bad news.
