    There are 9,000+ assaults on prison staff each year. That's more than one every hour! Instead of taking legal action against prison officers as it has been far too quick to do in the past, the Gov't needs to take measures to win back their support and guarantee their safety.

    The Tories are cutting drug and alcohol addiction services. What kind of a Government would do this? Labour will reverse these cuts and expand funding for these essential services.

    Later I’m at the National Substance Misuse Conference - cuts are pushing drug & alcohol services to breaking point. It means devastated lives. So with drug related deaths highest since records began, Labour will fully resource & expand addiction services
