Trying to explain to my wife what it was like to watch Fedor’s walkout live before his first fight in the US. Famous, top-tier UFC fighters were all standing on chairs, trying to get a look at him. I don’t know that I ever experienced anything like that again.

About 50 media outlets, podcasts and social influencers published the Sean Dyche news at the exact same time as . And a new episode of the High Performance Podcast with Dyche as guest. What media embargo?
Dana White saying it was literally impossible for Lesnar to become the UFC heavyweight champion years after lesnar actually became the heavyweight champion is literally so stupid

If I’m starting a publication focusing on combat sports in 2023, I’m hiring . I’ve long thought Vox was a very smart media company, but laying off Nate proves otherwise.

People talkin bout Jesus being undefeated and Jesus not tappin’ and whatnot, but “father, into thy hands I commit my spirit” is probably enough for a good referee like Marc Goddard to wave off the fight

Oh you chose the wrong guy here. No shit money is first. It was first for the unsanctioned events going on before Power Slap. I never once said fighter safety came first, I said its a good thing its regulated now so that fighter safety IS ensured bc these events happen regardless

The notion that fighter safety comes first is *so* stupid. Fighter safety does not come first. Not in slap fighting. Not in MMA. It never has. MONEY comes first, and second, and third. It’s hard to believe there are still humans who can’t grasp this.

It’s not unethical. These events have been happening, for years. It’s better now that it’s sanctioned and the fighters safety is put first whether you wanna see that or not

I was talking to earlier, speculating about the rating for the debut episode. And this is so much worse than I imagined it would be.

I don’t think I’ve ever looked forward to the release of tv ratings like I am with Power Slap today. Hoping for a hilarious unmitigated disaster that results in the show being canceled.
