Hi everyone -- I regret to inform you all that as of this week I've been laid off from Microsoft after five years with the Xamarin team. I'm now seeking remote opportunities as a PM or similar. Please reach out to paul.dipietro@outlook.com if you or anyone you know is hiring.

I think this is wrong. People don’t turn into monsters if you put them in a uniform. The Stanford Prison Experiment has been thoroughly debunked. See this recent paper, by the first researcher who went into the archives of the experiment: [thread /1]

Quick UI/UX poll: would you find it helpful to have access to an inline preview while editing your custom views (which additionally reacts to your code changes)? Too obtrusive? Not precise enough? "OMG leave my source editor alone"?

I recently enabled error reporting support in and added some UI for it to the web visualizer. This was one of the last piece that wasn't ported and we are now pretty much feature complete so check it out if you need a Roslyn-like XML parser.

Very beginnings of VS Mac specific editor extension docs are published. Please let us know what is confusing or lacking. We will be actively improving docs in this space over the coming weeks.

From an engineering perspective, those features were a great example of synergy and collaboration across a lot of different teams. Also stay tuned for a follow up blog post with more technical details 🔧

Thanks to the new editor we not only released all the improvements made over the last few months for Android XML resources on Mac as well but also partnered with the XAML team who ported their existing Visual Studio language service to give the same experience on both IDEs!

Friends! Did you know our own developer hero and friend, is running for Seattle City Council? He is! And I think he'll make an amazing council person. He is incredibly smart, nice, and a good dood. Anyone here wanna help out by doing a vector sketch of this portrait?
