I've tweeted for many years about how awful Richard "RMS" Stallman is - the pedophilia, the ableism, the misogyny. Inevitably, each time I do, dudes examine my receipts & then say "all those incidents are from years ago! he's changed now!" NOPE.https://medium.com/@selamie/remove-richard-stallman-fec6ec210794 …

The statements relayed in the medium post are reprehensible. There is indeed no formal relationship between FSF and Conservancy as others have said but for my part, I'm removing my only remaining formal personal connection right now - my FSF membership. We'll be following this.

My post to the
@FSF member forum earlier. It's long past time the board exercised their duty under Article VI Section 7 of the bylaws and vote him out. His behavior is doing harm to the public interest the public charity is chartered to support.#RMS#Stallman#FSF#FreeSoftwarepic.twitter.com/xm4uH74eli

How has the response been?

Couldn't tell ya. As soon as they processed my membership cancellation I lost access. It was a reply to the topic started by
@mattl; maybe he knows if anyone else has spoken up there. -
Names have been blanked out, this is every response after
@downey so far.pic.twitter.com/QP1Za0zEj5

RMS replies to my email demanding he resignpic.twitter.com/1abZMNu9er

Decades of experience show he'll never learn anything about why his behavior is harmful. This is why
@bkuhn_ebb_org@makoshark@gknauth@mindspillage need to step up & finally do their jobs & remove him if there's any hope left for the charity rapidly crashing into disrepute. -
If they don’t do their jobs quickly they should resign from the board as they are failing at their “duty of care and duty of loyalty” to act in the best interest of the organization and not in the best interest of RMS. They work for the organization and must put the org first.

As far as I know FSF and conservancy don't have any formal relationship anymore.

Bradley Kuhn, "Distinguished Technologist at Software Freedom Conservancy," is listed on
@fsf's 'about' page as on their board of directors. https://www.fsf.org/about/staff-and-board/ … -
Yeah for sure. But that doesn't mean the charities have any kind of relationship to each other, is all I'm saying.
-
I think the two orgs are fairly independent of each other FWIW. Conservancy is also fairly pro-active in its progressiveness; Outreachy is a good example.

@jenred I don’t understand your reasoning for not wanting to support@conservancy. Bradley Kuhn and his staff work very hard on outreach efforts in the free software world, and I know Bradley cares deeply about social justice. Your tweet makes no sense to me.Thanks.
