    In class I made the case for election integrity and voting rights being analogous to Type I and Type II errors, as below. Student: “But I need to show a license to buy a beer, why not for voting?” Because you don’t have a constitutional right to beer.

    This thread is an education. I had no idea big paper was a thing and it was so awful. It’s one thing for a small business to go under because it refuses to pay its employees a fair wage, but it’s entirely different when a small business goes under bc big business cheated them.

    If you're just tuning in, declared bankruptcy this week. But before they did that, they put in lots of large orders with over 250 small independent companies knowing that they wouldn't have to pay for the inventory after the fact. THREAD

    H.R.1 has zero chance of passing the Senate. (No, they won't nuke the filibuster for it.) Because it's a messaging bill. That doesn't mean it's completely doomed. Pieces of it could become law by de-omnibusing. This is a common, but often overlooked, strategy.

    Breaking: House passes 220-210, most important democracy reform bill since Voting Rights Act. Includes big pro-voter policies like automatic & Election Day registration, 2 weeks early voting, no excuse absentee voting, independent redistricting & public financing elections
