If they're using it to modify a verb to designate it as "something that is able to be supposed/conceived of", I'm pretty sure that's a valid usage of the word.

YES! I LOVE this! When I was 15 I attended a fairly exclusive "Young Writers' Workshop" and realized that most people there mispronounced words, and had that epiphany that means you read more words than you hear spoken! Not exactly something to be ashamed of!!

FIRMLY agree, ever since watching that "Trekkies" doc with the endearing nerd who said "ple-THOR-a" years ago. Mine, which my friends corrected for me in junior high: "in-eh-VEET-uh-bull." Knew what it meant, but hadn't realized the Emperor told me the pronunciation in RotJ.

If you say it wrong enough in your head, the word said correctly is just a synonym.
