Wendell, NC I was born and raised right here. The furthest I have gone is to Wilmington, NC. Which is about 3hrs away. And yes, I took horses with me!

I thought it was interesting how he avoid your question yesterday about this very issue and pivoted quickly into "I sat down with with many ppl." I asked about midwifery policy, racism as a public health issue, the investment in Black-led orgs and funding disparities...silence

All of us in public health, especially Black folks love & honor Dr. & the work of . That’s not what’s important. It’s intentionally erasing the work of the Black women thought leaders they’re fully aware of from that sucks

3/Even more disturbing is midwifery and the model of care provided by them and alliance isn’t mentioned either. One report is 71 pages and one is 184 pages. None of my work is cited either.

2/ released 2 reports today in advance of the public/private partnership he’s launching. Neither report cite my work or important work from Black women scholars or others who have done some of the work to landscape this issue

1/So, on Dec 7, 2017 I talked with & for this very story. Their Lost Mothers series was vanguard and important. We had new data published that aligned with their analysis.

speaking candidly about horrific inequalities in maternal & infant outcomes for Black people in USA and uses the term ‘maternal-toxic zones or environments’ Being in hospital doesn’t make it safe for Black women.
