Rep. Liz Cheney, daughter of Dick Cheney, yesterday attacked "the fraud of socialism." Really? I wasn't aware that it was "socialism" that lied about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and got us into a horrific war that we should never have started.

Reminder that Anderson Cooper is a literal Vanderbilt in case you're wondering why he looks so disturbed about the idea of the tax rate on the wealthy going back up to what it was a few decades ago

Last note: There will be many on the right & in the media who will mock for calling for tax rates at 60 or 70, but they're the ones who are economically illiterate. They're basing their view on an outdated and ideological understanding of taxation, not on the best research.

When millions of Americans come together to demand that Congress puts people over profits, the insurance companies, weapons manufacturers, and fossil fuel billionaires won’t stand a chance. Our democracy must reflect the will of the people, not corporations and billionaires.

Clearly, the best way to stop people from watching something is to ban it, make it trend online, and then leave it up on YouTube. Let’s not forget that the world’s largest humanitarian crisis is happening in Yemen right now. Please donate:

We have never invaded, occupied or bombed a country to help humanity. We do it for resources, money & power. That this needs to be said shows how powerful corporate brainwashing is. Tip: If your news media are literally owned and operated by war profiteers, stop watching.

ICE paid private prisons $807 million this year. Those companies pay incarcerated workers from migrant communities as little as $1 a day. That’s exploitation and shows again why prisons should NEVER be for profit.

Israel violates Syria’s sovereignty and bombs Damascus on Christmas, and nobody even bats an eyelash. But the decision to bring back home US troops illegally present in Syria is announced and the entire world goes totally mad.

    10. For those who somehow think this is Trump opposing the war machine, I point you to his massive escalation of drone strikes, his easing of rules for killing civilians, his use of ground troops in Yemen and Somalia and his use of criminal weaponry like the MOAB in Afghanistan.

    8. There is a real possibility Trump will withdraw forces from Afghanistan and use Erik Prince’s forces. This must be opposed ferociously. 9. One consequence of major drawdowns could be a dramatic uptick in covert actions and air strikes. Obama embraced that model.

    5. This is an opportunity for progressive forces to assert an alternative vision for US foreign policy. 6. Trump is a crooked charlatan. But these withdrawals would represent a dent in the armor of the bipartisan war machine. 7. This chaos presents opportunity.

    1. I support withdrawing US troops from all these wars, overt and covert. 2. Trump is an unstable authoritarian who cannot be trusted. 3. “Mattis was an adult” is bullshit. He’s a hawkish war criminal. 4. It’s very telling that the war party in DC is furious.

It's odd how many liberals/centrists are reacting with horror to the very *idea* of withdrawing troops from Syria, where they shouldn't have been in the first place. Only a couple of years ago, even hawkish Hillary was pledging 'no boots on the ground' in Syria. How times change.

What happened to the who opposed Iraq? We have been in Afghanistan for 17 years. After the surge, the Taliban controls 70 percent instead of 40 percent. We need a foreign policy of restraint. We could spend the trillions saved on jobs and education at home.
